NFL Regional Combines Kick Off In Seattle

This year’s NFL regional combines are now underway. Seattle was the first stop last Saturday February, 11 at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

For those who don’t know much about the regional combines, they were developed by the NFL as a supplement to the National Scouting Combine. Regional Combines are open to any players that are draft eligible and not invited to the National Scouting Combine. As long as they pay the $160 registration fee. ┬áThis event is beneficial especially to players from smaller schools. They were designed for players to show off their potential and provide a less opportunity for a player to be overlooked and for many, this is their only chance to show teams what they got. Regional Combines are closed to media personnel. You won’t hear much about how well or how bad a player performed at the combine since scouts usually keep their findings under lock and key. All 32 teams are looking for a hidden gem and each team hopes they are the only team to notice a player’s potential. According to the NFL, 76 players were on NFL rosters in 2016 that had participated in NFL Regional Combines. Here is a list of the participants at the Regional Combine in Seattle.
