Playoff Race Tightens In Big3 Basketball: Scores, Standings

Big 3 Basketball Scores

When Big3 Basketball took over the Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY in Sunday, the playoff race was close. After all the games were over, the race is closer than ever. It’s still a five-team race for the last two spots.  The games were good. Especially between the Killer 3’s and 3’s Company. For the second straight week without Allen Iverson, 3’s Company was brilliant on the court. It’s uncertain still what would happen if there is a tie for the third or fourth spot, but points differential would most likely be the tie-breaker. The Big3 has the latest playoff scenarios listed on their site.

Big3 Basketball Week 7 Scores

Trilogy 50, Power 45

Trilogy remained undefeated in Big3 Basketball play with the win on Sunday. Power went on a 12-0 run to take an 11 point lead at the half. Trilogy was too good to be held down though. Rashad McCants led Trilogy with 20 points and Al Harrington added 14 points to the comeback. DeShawn Stevenson scored 19 points for Power to lead the team. Cuttino Mobley scored 17 points to remain on the points leaderboards. Trilogy plays the Killer 3’s this Sunday while Power finishes the season against Tri-State.

3 Headed Monsters 50, Ball Hogs 34

Rashard Lewis was unstoppable again for the 3 Headed Monsters. He led the team in scoring and recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf added 14 points and Kareem Rush scored 9 points. The Ball Hogs tried to keep it close in the first half, but lack of offensive production got the best of them. Derrick Byars led the Ball Hogs with 11 points and Xavier Silas contributed with 9 points. The 3 Headed Monsters play the Ghost Ballers in their final regular season game and the Ball Hogs play 3’s Company.

Tri-State 51, Ghost Ballers 43

The Ghost Ballers left the door wide open in the playoff race with a loss this past Sunday. Tri-State went on a 13-4 run in the second half that helped them get their second win of the season. Bonzi Wells had a game-high 18 points, but Dominic McGuire was a solid playmaker all-around. McGuire scored 13 points, pulled down 8 rebounds, and also recorded 2 blocks and 5 assists. Lee Nailon contributed 12 points. For the Ghost Ballers, Ricky Davis scored 15 points and Ivan Johnson added 14 points. Mike Bibby had 6 assists, but didn’t have a great offensive day scoring just 7 points.  The Ghost Ballers have a tough game this Sunday against the 3 Headed Monsters while Tri-State will try to play spoiler against Power.

3’s Company 51, Killer 3’s 48

This was a critical game for both teams, but 3’s Company prevailed under interim player/coach DerMarr Johnson. With a below average performance last week, Johnson played better this week with 10 points and 7 boards. Al Thornton scored 15 points, but it was Andre Owens who put it all together for 3’s Company. Owens was 9-17 from the field and scored 20 points. Stephen Jackson scored 25 points for the Killer 3’s and kept them in the game. Chauncey Billups nailed some big shots while scoring 10 points and Reggie Evans had a game-high 13 rebounds. While both teams are still in playoff contention, 3’s Company seems to be in the best position. Their last game of the Big3 Basketball season is against the Ball Hogs, while the Killer 3’s take on Trilogy.
